Lock-outs

In our increasingly busy lives, we often forget things. We may leave a bag of groceries on top of the car when we drive away; we may forget to pay our phone bill; we may forget to call a loved one on their birthday; and many more embarrassing or troubling situations.

One of the most common types of situational forgetfulness that we deal with at Speedy G is drivers who have locked themselves out of their cars. Lock out services

If you have locked yourself out of your car, call our dispatch number at (224) 633-1185. Let us know where you are located and what type of vehicle you are driving. We have special equipment that allows us to safely access your car so that we can return your keys to you, allowing you to drive away.

If you have locked yourself out of your car and the engine is still running – or the keys are in the ignition – please let us know this too. Your battery may need to be jumped if you left your car in this state overnight or for a long period of time. For cars with push button ignition, this is more common than you would think!

Emergency situations

If you have locked yourself out and are stranded in a dangerous location or have an emergency, please let us know when you call so we can prioritize your case. The following situations are considered emergencies, among others:

You have a baby or pet in your car that you have locked out.
You are in an unfamiliar area or have locked yourself out in a remote location away from people.
You need to drive someone who is having a medical emergency to get help.
If you have been locked out of your car with a baby inside – and it’s warm out – you must dial 911 right away. Even a few minutes in a locked car when it is warm outside can be harmful to young children, infants and pets.
